Announcement on behalf of Linc Cymru: Jehu Group

This news relates to our City Road development in Cardiff and Dan Y Mynydd extra care scheme in Rhondda Cynon Taf. 

We are now working with our partners to plan for the continuation and completion of works at both schemes. In the meantime, the construction sites will be closed and secured.

Sian Diaz, Development Director at Linc said: “It is disappointing to receive the news that Jehu has gone into administration. This is a sad time for the Jehu team and for those who have had the pleasure to work alongside them. Linc has worked with Jehu on a number of high profile, successful projects, including our most recent extra care scheme, Cwrt yr Orsaf in RCT.

“Work will now begin to source a new contractor to take over the construction and we will work alongside our colleagues in RCT Council and Cardiff Council to ensure the successful delivery of Dan Y Mynydd extra care scheme and our new homes on City Road, Cardiff.

“We appreciate that many people will be keen to see work on the schemes continue and we will keep you updated as our plans progress.”

A spokesperson for Rhondda Cynon Taf Council said: “The Council is sorry to hear this news about Jehu Group, with whom we enjoyed an excellent relationship alongside Linc Cymru. Together we recently delivered the fantastic Cwrt yr Orsaf Extra Care scheme that has already established itself as a first-class community hub within Pontypridd.

“As a result of Jehu Group’s announcement, the works site for the Dan y Mynydd Extra Care scheme in Porth will be temporarily paused and the site secured.

“The Council and Linc will work very closely towards resuming the scheme as soon as possible. We would like to reassure the local community that while there is likely to be a delay to the scheme’s timescale, it is still considered a priority project. We are committed to delivering it as originally planned, to provide further Extra Care places and additional community facilities in Porth.”
