Linc Receives £990,000 from Welsh Government for Phase 2 Homelessness Project in Bridgend
The funding comes from the Government’s Phase 2 Homelessness Programme which was launched in May 2020, with the aim of providing permanent accommodation for everyone who was given emergency shelter during the first wave of COVID-19 in 2020.
Linc has used the money to help purchase seven properties in Bridgend. The first was a building comprising of four flats for single occupancy and small families in Tanyrallt Avenue, which will undergo renovations before tenants are due to move in.
Linc then purchased five houses in Wildmill, which will be converted into two-bed units with solar panels, and plans to build two, two-bed bungalows on the same plot.
Finally, an office and retail unit has been purchased in Nolton Street, which will be converted into five, single-occupancy flats with a small commercial unit on the ground floor.

“Purchasing these seven properties in Bridgend has been a significant step for Linc in our response to both the Welsh Government’s Phase 2 Homelessness Programme and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Linc is committed to providing high-quality accommodation for local people in Bridgend, and this in turn will contribute to the Government’s wider goal of ending homelessness in Wales.
It has never been so important to get people into long-term, sustainable accommodation, and we are thankful to the Welsh Government for their funding, and to Bridgend County Borough Council for commissioning the project.”
