The opportunity: 

Linc Cymru are offering the opportunity to join our team as a Maintenance Facilities Assistant, based in Ty CochNursing Home, Cardiff.  

The ideal candidate will have strong DIY skills and be able to assist in the maintenance of the home, including performing minor repairs, painting, and other general upkeep tasks. Additionally, the role will involve conducting weekly tests on essential equipment such as fire alarms and emergency lighting, as well as handling ad hoc maintenance tasks as they arise. 

The Maintenance / Handyperson will be responsible for liaising with other professional contractors as needed for larger maintenance projects.  

Applicants should have a background in general maintenance andpossess a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.Previous experience in a healthcare setting or nursing home is preferred but notrequired. 

  • To support the Facilities Department in the management of the building and facilities. 

  • Be observant for Health & Safety issues and ensure that they are rectified, made safe and reported to management. 

  • Carrying out day-to-day duties according to daily schedules, including but not limited to; maintaining and keeping of lawns, hedges, shrubbery,and plants. Support with maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of external areas and other related general maintenance. 

  • Being proactive by noticing deficiencies in the sites facilities and either rectifying if within capabilities or bringing the defect to the attention of the Facilities Manager. 

  • Any other duties as assigned by the Home Manager that relate to maintaining the facilities in a clean, functional and aesthetically pleasing state.
