Planning Approval Granted for Regeneration Proposal of Constables Close, Newport

The plans, which have now been approved by Newport City Council, are part of a wider regeneration project in the Pill area and have been designed to increase natural surveillance and invite more pedestrian footfall, ultimately aiming to create a safer environment for local residents.

The planning application was originally submitted in February 2020 and the proposed development was then revised following comments from consultees, including community members.

The plans see the demolition of several properties and the widening of a number of rear gardens, as well as the conversion of some houses to flats.

The addition of more overlooked areas and green spaces, seeks to create a more appealing environment in which to live.
