How we support our communities

Community
We support CHC’s Homes manifesto outlining the need for the next Welsh Government to make public money go further by matching every £1 invested in new social homes, supporting new jobs and training opportunities. Linc Cymru undertakes a range of social value activities, which are either delivered or commissioned.

Justine Scorrer, Community Regeneration Manager, said:

“Our community benefits activities are delivered in partnership with our tenants and residents, third sector organisations and other stakeholders to support projects that are important to each community. These activities make a real difference to the lives of tenants, residents and the wider community. It is central to our social purpose, and we are proud of our work in this area, and the outcomes we achieve.”

Our social value activities include:
• Providing a range of opportunities for targeted recruitment and training including apprenticeships, work placements, site visits and learning opportunities for local people with a minimum of one apprenticeship place for every £1 million of spend

• Working closely with Y Prentis (Shared Apprenticeship Scheme) to help young people obtain work experience on site with our contractors (Jehu and Pendragon)

• Facilitating a successful learning sessions for Y Prentis’s Apprentice Advisory Panel that included presentations and a site visit to our Modular Build Extra Care scheme in Aberaman.

• Running collaborative projects with external partners such as health boards and local authorities e.g. in Bridgend and Blaenau Gwent

• Providing funding for local community projects and supporting a range of community events and engagement activities associated with all of our new developments and key procurement contracts
