Linc-Cymru specialises in the affordable housing, social care and health sectors in Wales. We are a socially responsible business and all profits are reinvested for the benefit of our customers rather than being distributed to shareholders. Established in 1977, we are an Industrial and Provident Society registered with the Welsh Assembly Government. We have two primary strands to our business:
Linc Homes operates across South Wales and provides social and affordable homes for rent and to buy. Linc Homes' customers are mainly families since most of our 3,000 homes have 2 or more bedrooms. Information on the services and locations of our homes can be found under the Linc Homes section.
Linc Care operates across Wales provides homes and services to older and vulnerable people. Linc Care specialises in:
- Supported housing for vulnerable people
- Sheltered accommodation for older people
- extraCare housing which enables older people to live in their own homes and maintain their independence in a safe and secure environment with an on site 24/7/365 day care service spefically tailored to meet individual needs. We currently have schemes in Blaenau Gwent, Cardiff and Newport.
- Nursing Care - we have recently opened our first, purpose built, community nursing home in Newport.
More information can be found under the Linc Care section.
We have an active development programme that is geared to ensure Linc's growth dovetails into both national and local government housing and care strategies.
Based in Wales' capital city, we have positive and productive relationships with the Welsh Assembly Government, Local Authorities and Local Health Boards as well as companies involved in the property and construction sectors.
We were the first organisation in Wales to achieve accreditation from the Centre for Housing and Support (CHS) for the high standard of service we provide within our extraCare housing. Furthermore, we are the first extraCare provider in Wales to achieve the RNIB's (Royal National Institute of Blind People) 'Visibly Better' accreditation and the first in the UK to be awarded 'Gold' status at our Plas Bryn extraCare Scheme in Cardiff. The award recognises outstanding work and commitment to provide the very best levels in accessibility that meet the needs of people with sight loss and impaired vision.
An Investor in People organisation, the Association's affairs are controlled by a single Management Board, with strategy and policy being implemented by the Corporate Executive Team led by Chief Executive Robert Smith.
